Jessica Bellamy

Spoken Word

You know what I love even more than sitting alone in a room, typing up conversations with my imaginary friends? Being a member of a literary community!

I’ve had a lot of fun reading and performing short pieces of (usually comedic) writing for a variety of events across Australia.

I’ve written and performed for events including Dybbuk at Malthouse Theatre, Penguin Plays Rough, Erotic Fan Fiction, Late Night Library, Story Club and Ghost Stories. I’ve also written and performed a joyful ongoing celebrity fan fiction show along with my collective “Teen Makeouts” (comprising myself, Adam Hadley and David Finnigan) at Canberra’s You Are Here Festival and Queensland Poetry Festival.

As well as performing live, I love being a guest on Podcasts and on the radio. My blog Would Jess Like it was a regular segment on 2SER’s breakfast show in 2011, and I have recently been a guest on Highway to Nothing.
